Would you like to spend your holiday in a place that offers beautiful views to the ocean. Well, you’ve found the right place. This summer house is located in Skåtøy, Norway. The house opens with large windows to the archipelago, but on the side of a public port is closed because it was designed to protect the privacy of the residents. The starting point of the lodge was an existing house dated 1940. The new project was based on the old cabin’s footprint. The client wanted a summer house that opens to the stunning archipelago but also provide private outdoor areas. The site topography is represented by two volumes: one that contains a “sleeping cabin” and another one that contains the living room and kitchen. Dichotomy provides a sheltered outdoor area on the upper level that corresponds to a similar patio downstairs.
