This central London townhouse based in Mayfair is an extraordinary fantasy. Designed by Rebecca James of Interior Desires, each room magically transports you to a fairytale dream. The designer says her fashion background informs her work. ‘It taught me that when you’re doing something out of the ordinary, it is essential that you don’t panic and worry that it’s too bold. You mustn’t try to tame it, otherwise it can end up being cheap and nasty. Dare to be unique and different — that’s what will make it classy.’ The ex-ballet dancer and model has made a name for herself and her company Interior Desires by eschewing the ‘golden rules’ of interior design and working instinctively to create dramatic, luxurious interior spaces for which the word ‘wow’ was surely invented.
