The Line is a new hotel that draws inspiration from the culture of Los Angeles. Located in a mid-century building less than 6.4 km from Hollywood, the Line Koreatown boutique hotel features free Wi-Fi, an outdoor pool, a furnished sun terrace and three restaurants. Designer Sean Knibb has created modern interiors with subtle local influences and handmade furnishings from his Venice beach studio. each room features floor-to-ceiling views of Los Angeles. Inside the Line is celebrity chef Roy Choi’s restaurant, the Commissary, a new produce-focused restaurant. Located on the second-floor roof deck of The Line Hotel, the 1,700 square-foot greenhouse of a restaurant is impressive even for LA’s rooftop scene. Designed by Venice based Sean Knibb of Knibb Design the greenhouse’s lofty ceilings are adorned with hanging ivy, ferns, and cyclamens. “The mix of plants changes monthly, as we rotate the plants around the hotel,” says. Commissary is a greenhouse with a focus on fruits and vegetables. It’s not necessarily a vegetarian restaurant, just good food and drink based around plants as the foundation. It’s also an homage to all the people and families here in so cal that work on farms to bring food to our tables. Set beside a shimmering pool, it’s got all the amenities of a private club but created for the public. Come sunbathe in carrot juice, mack on a salad, or grab some eggs and toast. Commissary is your own little oasis where you can feel right at home and chill.
