We recently had 2 posts on DesignRulz about two different ways of amazing sculpture art: Sculptures Made of Over 50,000 Matches by David Mach, and Portraits into Photo-Sculpture by Maurizio Anzeri, so for today we would like to present an original project called Amazing Portraits Made From a Single Unbroken Thread by Kumi Yamashita
These portraits are awesome! Each image is constructed from a single unbroken black thread meaning that the darker areas within the portrait are formed solely from the density of the string.
This body of work consists of three simple materials that, when combined, produce the portraits: a wooden panel painted a solid white, thousands of small galvanized nails, and a single, unbroken, common sewing thread.
