This contemporary Spanish house, realized by 05am Architects is centered around tree cubes that provide functional answers to the users needs, optimizing all the available space and improving the spatial perception of the floor plan. One cube incorporates the main elements of the kitchen, another one represents a bookcase built in the staircase, and the last one serves the fireplace in the house. The bedrooms are on the upper floor, the service and storage areas define the living areas, all built around a hall which can also function as a bathroom with a built-in basin unit which is hidden when not in use.
The house is placed in the affluent neighbourhood of Vallvidrera, an area that used to be a cool summer retreat where wealthy people from Barcelona had their summer houses. As you can easily notice from the pictures below, the main floor is an open plan that offers wide, unbroken views of the interior.
