Divan Restaurant brings an exotic oriental fragrance in Bucharest, Romania. Its interior design represents elegant and precisely measured fusion between ottoman art and custom designed objects. The Turkish bazaar atmosphere is created with beautiful turquoise walls, Ottoman artifacts and other decorative elements brought from Istanbul.
The walls are covered in authentic turkish carpets and kilim patchwork which contribute to a sense of warmth and intimacy. The abundance of carpets and hanging lights are meant to recall the typical busy bazaar feeling. The color scheme is based on various shades of turquoise. Pendant lamps are custom made either in the shape of the Turkish fez or inspired from the nargile base. The table bases shape comes from the moon support on top of the mosque but also from the chess pieces. The floor features Ottoman motifs cement tiles while walls in the bar areas are covered in traditional Iznic ceramic.
