Small sites architecture requires talented professionals who know how to use a compass, a triangle and a reglet smartly. Like the creators of Hugues Tournier studio in France that realised Maison Cardaillac below, a house that almost creeps in a narrow screed of land. Seen from above, it seems an atypical building for the traditional French village with houses set in row on both sides of the road. Sleek and discreet, the modern house consists of two separate volumes that were placed in terrace because of the unevenness of the field. As a result, the inhabitants can admire the beautiful panorama outside from different levels. Moreover, a long pool connects visually the wooden structures, giving a touch of dynamism to the whole site.

Small sites architecture is always surprising and innovative.
The neighbours are quite close, but the architects designed narrow windows to ensure privacy.
