Located in the urban outskirts of Munich, this minimalist family home is a contemporary approach to the dwellings one can find in the neighborhood. Simplicity was key to designing an elegant, spacious and airy home on a relatively small plot. Displaying a minimalist design character, this detached single-family house was completed after only six months of construction. The building follows line of the houses in the street and thus continues the urban edge along the link road. The front garden area next to the street is thereby supported and the roof orientation of the surrounding buildings continued.
Designed by Format Elf Architects, the residence partially closes to the street side in order to prevent noise polluting in the interiors and opens up towards the garden through large windows. Maximum residential value on a minimal plot. The facade that faces the public space and with it the sound emissions from the road traffic contains only a small number of indented or protruded windows and is therefore more closed. On the far side of the road the building opens towards the garden with large windows. The predominant colours and materials used on the building are reflected in the interior design. The white floor gives the room brightness and depth. The roof pitches, which were determined mathematically according to the yard and setback regulations, have been implemented innovatively in the form of an asymmetrical roof in order to create maximum living space on the small plot.
