Described as a four elementary volumes on a two level house, this residence was designed by SCEG and it is located in Nosy Be, Madagascar. The roof, like a straw curtain, covers the volumes towards the beach and protects the house from the water, the light and the wind. The two level home is cleverly suspended on a wooden platform above the beach and takes advantage of the staggering surrounding stunning sea views. The residence has all windows oriented towards the surrounding landscape and the seaside. Expansive use of glass and plenty of terraces turn this home into an open gallery where the main elements on display are the sun, sand and waves. The central patio, mediating element between the inside and outside, connects the front with the back, the sea and the forest. Its style is simple and minimalist, as if looking to not distract the inhabitants from the beauty of the ocean beyond. A simple color palette, composed of white, black and grey goes wonderfully with the serene atmosphere of the site. No disruptions, just soothing vibes throughout.
