White is never boring. As you may already know, we are a big fan of white and cream tones when it comes to interior design. We believe that white helps to harmonize the space and establish a continuity from one room to anothe. For example, this top floor apartment was completely redesigned by Global Architects. It is located in The Netherlands.Wanting to keep the spatial feel the same, they had to figure out a way to bring back the traditional function of the rooms to make the apartment both functional and efficient.
The goal was to restore the traditional function of the rooms in an efficient and contemporary way without compromising the overall spatial experience. The largest section of the apartment contains the living room on one side and the kitchen and dining room on the other with two simple, built-in closets to partition the spaces a bit. They also provide extra storage and help hide the fridge and washing machine. The décor is modern and stylish, and industrial elements such as stainless steel kitchen cupboards, a stove of steel and raw grain wooden boards have been incorporated throughout the whole interior. The result is a complete living experience which combines the ideals of the early 20th century bourgeoisie with contemporary high-tech and industrial design features, topped off with a comfortable indoor environment provided by the application of sustainable building principles.
