Classic interiors are warm and cozy, giving the feeling of a timeless era. Remodelled by Garrison Hullinger studio, the residence below features family-friendly interiors, as well as elegant and sophisticated details that add personality and create a strong identity of the space. As explained on the website, the designers wanted to transform the once cramped, dark and less than functional home into a spacious, fully functional and modernised dwelling: “We selected fabrics and materials that could stand the test of time with the family in mind, but we also made sure to incorporate sophistication by using warm tones that helped accentuate the beautiful architectural details.”
Therefore, fine niches, wooden beams, stylized columns and coffers in the ceiling form the vocabulary of a classic antiquity. The living room transmits a sensation of massiveness through sumptuous sofas around the stone fireplace, while the dining area activates the atmosphere of a royal banquet with an imperial, reconditioned wooden table. But, although classic design played an essential role while decorating the house, this does not mean it looks rigid or impersonal. A fresh infusion of items makes the interiors actual and inspiring. For example, framed T-shirt exhibited all around the house, giant paintings in hot colours, sculptures and sport trophies that reflect inhabitants’ hobbies and passions. In a nutshell, you do not need brand new contemporary stuff to feel ‘present’. Keep classic things near you and make them look young and restless.
