The link between nature and artistic creation and, consequently, the part played by both along the path to an accomplished life, is in itself an important theme in Western culture, described with great care and wisdom on the American continent by Henry David Thoreau in ‘Walden’, a book published in the year 1854. More than 150 years down the line, Erin Moore, architect, researcher and assistant at the University of Oregon, offers an original, yet deeply anchored in tradition view on that same theme, with this less than 10sqm of studio designed for her mother, Kathleen Dean Moore, a writer with a passion for nature.
