Located on a 519 sqm area, in Australia, the Brighton Townhouses were completed by Martin Friedrich Architects in 2013. Relying on a contemporary language, the dwellings feature spacious living and dining rooms that open with sliding doors and courtyards with wrap around pools. When the inhabitants step inside, a free standing circular staircase welcomes them. Looking like a contemporary sculpture, it transcends all three levels of the houses. Moreover, a large circular skylight floods the interior in natural light. Inside, the deep grey European oak flooring, Pietro Grigio marble and mink grey carpet contrast with the white walls and add warmth and richness. Although the tones are quite cold, the atmosphere is elegant and luxurious. The color of the flooring is repeated in custom designed cabinetry throughout the houses including the cinema and study. The vivid colors of the artwork accentuate the pure white interior.
