Completed in 2011 by designer Cristina Barbara, the apartment below has its interiors shaped by light. If you do not know how to maximize existing natural light in your home, here are some pieces of advice. Firs of all, choose transparent windows and diaphanous curtains in order to let sun come inside all day long, especially in living rooms because they represent the heart of our homes. Avoid unnecessary partitions or additional walls because they block light and make the space feel crowded and heavy. Instead, try to create communication between areas such as a large open plan that integrates the dining and the living or a hallway that continues into a working space. Last, but not least, do not forget about the colors: they animate the house and create lively contrasts! For example, orange and pink are perfect when you need dynamism, while green and blue add freshness to a room.
