Steel, stone, granite and several pieces of finished wood outline the body of the house. Although I am not a big fan of cold materials, Ridgewood Residence realized by Cornerstone Architects has something that caught my attention. As you can easily notice from the photos below, the exterior played an essential role, being smoothly integrated inside. You can admire the garden while having a bath or spying the people at the pool while working in the office. Taking into consideration the indoor/ outdoor lifestyle of the owner, the architects succeeded to create a deep communication between them. The kitchen and the living room represent the heart of the house even if they were painted in grey and cream, tones that reflect a contemporary urban lifestyle. Exquisite lamps, modern bar stools and lacquered counter tops make the interior feel glamorous, yet cozy and comfy. Nonetheless, the residence was built according to several sustainable principles as, for example, the rainwater harvesting that result in an environmentally-friendly home within a cost-conscious budget.
