Located near Ghent, Belgium, House VDV is a distinctive residence, House VDV  was designed by Graux & Baeyens Architects in 2013. “We wanted to integrate the house into the woody surroundings as much as possible,” explained architect Basile Graux.  The volume, consisting of one level with a pitched roof, alludes to familiar archetypes such as the rural homestead or barn. But at the same time the volume is broken up by large glass facades, so that the relationship is established with the surrounding trees and the listed castle wall. Glossy and contemporary decorated, the interior of House VDV enhances the feeling of comfort and elegance. The living area, the lounge zone and the work-space on the gallery are flooded with light entering through the glass facade on the south side, facing the view.  Have a look at the architecture plans at the end of the post for a better understanding of the project and tell us what you think.
