Lajos Kuknyó, architect and principal partner at the Architema Studio loves uncluttered looks, functionality and the use of basic materials when designing a house. These were the principles that led him to fulfill the project below, a villa located in Hungary, 40 km from the capital, in a semi-rural context. Reflecting a modernist design with terraces and pavilion-like spaces, the dwelling relied on a crucial communication between interior and exterior. As you can easily notice, giant glass walls let natural light flow inside, helping the house connect with the natural surroundings. Amazed by geometry, the architect opted for straightforward, logical floor plans: though there are no rooms, part-walls form the boundaries. The bedrooms upstairs – accommodating the 3 person family living in the house – are connected with the garden via the planted roof terrace.
