Who said that weathered wood, old building systems and exposed bricks are not cool today? If you are an workaholic, then you’ll love a beer at Bar D’Arc, a pub with industrial looks, located in Timisoara, Western Romania. Realized by Ezzo Design, the pub makes you imagine a lot of men working in a factory, struggling to obtain productivity with their physical power. Unveiled in a savage beauty, the interior features a wagon-like plan, three visually separated areas, a dozen of structures and systems and, cherry on top, an arched ceiling. As you can easily notice, uncovered beams, brick, metal and other construction elements can also serve as the foundation for industrial style. As for the lighting, industrial pendant fixtures with porcelain enameled shades, cast aluminum bulb cages, and steel or ribbed glass shades were just one of the popular lighting types that illuminated the old factories. This look evolved from the massive factories of the 19th century, which were eventually abandoned and remodeled into havens for artists, architects and other creative professionals, who enjoy the interesting architecture, open space and acoustics.
