Located in Guadalajara, House S features a hidden authentic Mexican spirit in a contemporary, imposing residence. The clean lined ‘monument’ is the work of ASSALA + ELENES Arquitectos that completed it in 2010. The overall volume concept parts from two main elements: a stone texture and a stucco finish separated by a vertical glass “fissure” that contains the entrance to the house. Large, open areas together with a mix of volumes and shapes that keep the eye animated make the residence one of the most interesting projects in the area. For all the indoor public areas, the floor is made out of beige ivory marble in large format ( 2.2m x 1.8m ), cumarú wood decking in the exterior areas and porcelain tiles in the kitchen and service areas. Furthermore, sculptures played an essential role in organizing the interior. Although monochromatic pieces and clean lined objects populate the space, a lot of sophisticated statues and models added personality to the house. Moreover, the residence offers some of the most beautiful views over the Primavera forest.
