As Xavier, an architect with GLH & Associates Architects, says, ‘What won us over were the trees: four big jacarandas, a chestnut tree, the avocado trees. The rest we added. Inside you’ll find a calming all-white colour palette, interrupted only by warm wooden textures and an impressive collection of colourful artworks.
The home, designed by Xavier himself many years ago, also takes advantage of the pleasant climate, which explains why the space is so light and airy. While distinctly minimalist, the home remains a space for the family to relax together and the couple’s two children, Kwame and Almaz, often have friends over to play. As Carine puts it, ‘There’s no preciousness here.’
