Located in Gondomar (Pontevedra, Spain), the country house realized by A-cero Studio is one of the most beautiful residences I have ever seen. Gathering in one single house two separate buildings, renovating and expanding the facilities using a contemporary style. These were the challenges studio A-cero assumed when accepting to restore this small Galician country house. In the end, the result respects the architectural environment that existed without mimicking their structures and adds new constructive spaces without giving a feeling of variegation. Colors are mostly natural and muted. I love to see a little shot of yellow here and there, too. Whether you prefer a casual or formal translation of the country style, the result is always warm and inviting. The first problem we had to solve was the odd configuration of the original house, divided into two separated, disconnected volumes. In order to ensure greater visibility, and given the frequent rainfall in this part of Galicia, the architects decided to make the spaces communicate with each other through a glass gallery.
