A fireplace, a pool, a glass of fine wine, a beautiful panorama and … you simply fall in love with the Barton Creek Residence realized by Cornerstone Architects in Austin, Texas. The house has a harmonious contemporary style that incorporates work from local artists, warm wood custom pieces, a wide range of textures, spectacular light fixtures, luxurious rugs and miles of fabric window treatments. For example, I love the lounge area on the terrace because it is half inside, half outside, letting the inhabitants admire the surroundings while chatting on the sofa, around the fireplace. Moreover, the materials were used in natural colors, making luxury welcoming and inviting. As every designer says, form follows function and being practical does not mean you have to sacrifice luxury.
