Henri Cleinge constructed a dazzling home in Montreal, Canada: The Beaumont House. Inspired to create a home to be experienced by all five senses, the Beaumont concrete house evolved as an exploration project. The home mixes wood and concrete elements in both its interior and exterior to create an elegant effect. The central space is the largest volume where a double height living room is defined by concrete and wood surfaces which foil off each other. The entire building’s exterior walls are made of concrete exposed to the exterior and interior, with insulation in the middle. A spacious double height living room features besides an abundance of natural light, a range of natural materials such walnut and cedar wood details contrasting the hard textured concrete walls.
