The private AA house is located in Mojácar, Almería, a city in Andalusia, Spain, on the Mediterranean Sea. Completed in 2007, this 3,068 square foot contemporary home was designed by Madrid-based architectural firm MVN Architects. Architect Daniel H Nadal on the AA House: “All the work was focused on developing project strategies that would enable to open the heart towards the horizon. Rest in light, pick up the nuances of the sunrise and sunset. Be part of a privileged viewpoint, where the inhabitants were permanently welcome. And so was sought to ensure that the limit of the house was the horizon, a boundary that does not want to confine, but permanent opening. A house seeking shelter and protection, quiet at last. And so it calls at all times to the heart without forcing any door, without opening them, without crossing thresholds, to experience the peace of the horizon made of sea, of wind, of rock, the horizon made architecture for many years”.
The house is located on an existing platform overlooking the Mediterranean, on the East, on a sharply sloping plot.
The stairs inside have a handrail only on one side.
The central strip, which provides access to the house, is taken up by the main space, the double height living-dining room and, at the end, the main room.

Close to nature…the most beautiful ‘accessory’ of the house is its strong connection with the environment.
The areas are slightly divided with different lines on the floor.
The third and last strip is taken up by the children’s and guests’ rooms, a small sauna and a sculpture and painting workshop that includes a patio/storeroom for drying and storing pieces.
