German Architecture Studio Ruby3 realized a project that reminds me of Bauhaus buildings that were usually cubic, favoring right angles, (although some feature rounded corners and balconies). They had smooth facades and an open floor plan. Perched on a hillside overlooking the Rhine valley, the housing unit is solid enveloped in bright white walls with black window frames that form an ensemble, which distinguishes itself from the surrounding buildings. They act almost like an outsider, a bit incongruous in this residential area. The architect relied on functional form, similar to the Bauhaus design vocabulary.
Open floor plans, extensive glazing and a variety of views between interior and exterior design characterize the interior.
Upper and lower floors offer more private retreats.
