Today, we present a building located at Saltsjö-Boo, Stockholm that has a lot in common with its landscape. We found Villa UH1 on comhem.se and we were impressed by its clean and functional design. As you can easily notice, the architect sought to make the building as much a natural part of the site as possible. While laying out the different functions of the house according to the street, neighboring houses and the orientation of the sun, he discovered quite quickly that by creating a patio, the house would get a terrace facing the evening sun while at the same time being shut off from people’s view. In order to emphasize the landscaped aspect of the house, the architect let the roof literally grow out of the ground and become covered by sedum plants, thus eliminating the border between building and landscape.
