Have you ever dreamed to have a small, cozy wooden house far from city bustle? The Canadian built Sunset Cabin by Taylor Smyth Architects is a contemporary structural retreat just nestled above Lake Simcoe. Nestled into a slope on the southern shore of Lake Simcoe, this one room sleeping cabin is a simple but sophisticated Canadian bunkie, evoking the “primitive hut” of branches constructed in the wilderness. The facade of this home is comprised of mostly glass, while there are multiple thicknesses and sizes of wood slats layered on the exterior to filter in the light and give off the impression of your traditional cabin space. The interior is lined with birch veneer, and this 254 square foot home is nothing short of cozy and romantic, lost in the woods. This house is not meant for permanent residence: it is not equipped enough. Sunset Cabin was created to spend a few days there, relaxing on the nature and to gathering your thoughts. The beauty of pure nature and peace make you forget about everything.
