Aguilera Guerrero created this contemporary residence for a client located in Tarragona, Catalunya, Spain. Perforations on the facade allow natural light to enter the home while providing privacy. The house is considered from an abstract conception of shape, a subjective act that structures the program with shape criteria.
According to the architects: “The house is deemed from an abstract conception of form, a subjective act that structures the program with shape criteria. At that initial second of this conception, and consequently, we did not have in mind functional criteria which give us the pattern to home’s task, but what fed our “projective discipline” was the tectonics shape, capable to bring an buy to the material (mass) prior to the architectural (sculpture – painting) it is constructed, then, a construction of relations (visual, sensory, and so on.) that synthesize reasons and projective values. The presence of plastic materials – shade, texture, brightness, vibrancy, transparency – are attributes of building elements and the ones which give visual top quality at the architectural object. At this early stage we do not want or need display the plastic presence of the materials, but rather allow the conceived object gets only a frozen kind. This phrase “frozen form” gives us the clue about the projective arguments and reasoning have discoursed. Beneath these circumstances the programme, the area, the atmosphere, the views, the orientation, purely practical problems of architectonics become right here in mere contents implicit subsequently.”
