Who hasn’t dreamed of a vacation in the Greek islands? Mykonos is a perfect place for you and your family or friends., because it offers beaches full of bronzing bodies and guaranteed sunshine.
K-Studio have designed Alemagou (an ancient Mykonian word meaning ”at last!”), a bar and restaurant on the sands of Ftelia Beach, Mykonos Island, Greece. It is a perfect place where design meets tradition. The design of this traditional Greek tavern is a great combination between traditional Greek elements from the island of Mykonos and of Greece in general.
The architects created the concept by combining the surrounding elements, and traditional Cycladic architecture with contemporary organic forms. The interior decor has been kept simple and airy providing a natural, relaxed and comfortable sanctuary. The recognizable, traditional features and textures have been functionally used in this modern day bar-restaurant with the traditional organic forms use widely across the island. Every element in Alemagou has been carefully designed and positioned, as it acquaints us with the past, the tradition and the story which comes together to create this inspiring yet relaxed atmosphere, which flawlessly blends in to the existing landscape. The roof is made from natural reed that hangs down and sways in the beach’s strong winds. Plus, it creates natural air circulation that makes Mykonos’ sweltering temperatures bearable.
