Villa Midgård is a beautiful contemporary house designed by Stockholm-based studio DAPstockholm. The house, which spans 300-sq-m, was made of concrete and Corten steel with charcoaled beech wood interspersed throughout. The maintenance-free exterior covers the house’s multiple voluments which form seven different façades. Completed in 2011, this three level contemporary home is located in Stockholm, Sweden.
The clients wanted private spaces throughout the home, with a master bedroom that would capture morning sun and large windows to overlook the scenic views. The clients wanted a solid, secluded house with maintenance-free facade and a way to fully benefit from natural light.
‘This resulted in a multi?faceted house where the shape and direction of the different volumes are based on various factors like terrain, light conditions, views and privacy,’ says Smedshammar, an architect and partner at DAPstockholm.
Villa Midgård is a lovely place that has superb views, beautiful features and unique elements. It is a sanctuary to retreat to. What do you think?
