Babylonstoren is an old farm from Cape Winelands, Africa. The fertile green valleys of the Cape Winelands are surrounded by proud mountain ranges. Towns and villages have many historic homesteads and monuments. It is the Mediterranean climate and winter rainfall of the south-western Cape that produces some of the best wines in the country.
The farm we present today was built long time ago, its architectural style was developed in the Cape Colony of the 17th and 18th century: outer walls are whitewashed and decorated with ornate gables and thatched roofs. Babylonstoren has a main residence, old cellar, barn. Some of these have been converted into guest accommodation, while a disused kraal was turned into our restaurant, Babel.
