Working from home has its perks—flexibility, fewer distractions, and economic savings on things like gas and lunch. Yet, with freedom comes sacrifice. Having a space to go to and a community of people doing the same thing does amazing things for people’s productivity.
This coworking Space created by MAT Office, covers an area of about 800 square meter, divided into first level, second level and underground level. At the beginning stage of the project the architects, with large amount of case studies and precedent analyses, approached to the solution of a flexible space-sharing model.
According to the architects: ” Beijing Yuanyang Express We+ Co-working SpaceBeijing Yuanyang Express We+ Co-working Space is located at Block D, Yuanyang Express, Sanyuan Bridge, Chaoyang District, which used to be bottom business section of the apartment building. The client intends to transfer this space into a brand of coworking space and offline-activity area, as well as to explore the possibility of future workplace.” The design’s outcome creates a library-like experience: on the first level, the traditional lobby-corridor-office layout no longer exists, and has been transformed into a widely open area instead, that includes a bar counter which provides basic management and services to the co working space. A big discussion table serves both groups and individuals, while more privacy can be found in the booth area, suitable for small groups. Workstations are provided for those in need of complete isolation.
What did we love at this coworking space ?
Well for the starters, the use of bright colors: Yellow and Blue. This unusual color usage makes this space live and rocking. A plus is its simple furniture with well-lit areas.
The final design brings in a library-like space experience: On the first level, the traditional lobby-corridor-office layout no longer exists, but a widely-open space instead, a bar counter provides basic management and service to the coworking space.
