Designed by Andrea Pelati Architecte, the villa is located near the centre of Neuchâtel, Switzerland. Vila SAH is is a compact, elegant home that wraps itself around you. It settles on a small plot surrounded by quite massive houses. Therefore, the house is concentrated in a compact volume, seeking for openings and light vertically. The house, looking like a robust box, despite its small appearance, is quite spacious. We’ve got one main floor that accommodates the kitchen, the dining area and the living room, without making you feel swallowed by the cluttered space. It develops over three levels, the highest and brightest of which are hosted the living room, dining room, kitchen and terrace. In respect to the occupants’ privacy, the North façade displays a shield to the street whereas the South façade opens on to beautiful framed views of the city, lake and Alps. The layout was designed to allow light to flow in through all three levels, thanks to high ceilings, over lapping spaces and skylights. You can enjoy spectacular views, just like when you lay on the grass and watch the shimmering stars. The main material used in defining the house was concrete. An interesting, yet modern mix, used by many architects to unveil a contemporary design line.
