This penthouse was recently the prize in a contest initiated by Airbnb that promised two lucky winners a chance to experience it up close, before regaining its preparing-room purpose. Airbnb recently collaborated with interior designers Melissa Hegge and Nina Holst to transform the top of the Holmenkollen ski-jump in Norway into a spectacular glass-walled penthouse apartment. If you are a major ski fan, then you will probably recognize this interior: it is the room where the ski jumpers prepare for flight before their jump during competitions. Be back with more details after this exciting short film about the project:
Here is an excerpt from the official description: “The apartment’s floor to ceiling windows give you one of the best views imaginable of Oslo, snow capped mountains and endless forest. Right above you is the highest roof terrace in town, so you can do some serious stargazing as dinner is served. If you’re really lucky, you might even see the Northern Lights.” We love the overall cozy feeling this place exudes and we find its design inspirational. How would you comment on this project idea?
