A modern house does not necessarily mean an explosion of colours. Despite their lack of popularity, neutral tones such as light grey, beige and brown are a perk because they evoke calm and serenity. Take the example of “Eaton Mews North” house, located in Belgravia, London. Realised by luxury interior design studio Roselind Wilson, the abode speaks the language of tranquility in its 1,700 square foot surface. Focussing on textured fabrics and finishes, the designers created a modern interior that is welcoming and comfortable. Is glamour missing? Certainly not. Battered, aged bronzes and polished, honed marbles were used to create a subtle sense of prestige.

A working area is a must-have in a modern house. Marked by a large picture that says ‘imagination’, the office features a simple desk with drawers, a metal lamp and a leather covered chair. Nearby, an armchair and a little table offer space for reading and meditating.
