Traditional Italian architecture has a lot in common with opulence, sophistication, excessive decorations and elegance. Despite the critics it gets, designers admit that this is the taste of luxury. A piece of this kind of extravagance can be admired below, in the luxurious dwelling realised by SL*project and located in Pestov, near Moscow. Inspired by Italian countryside architecture, the residence features some specific elements: stone portals around doors and openings, ceramic tiles, arched windows, galleries with columns, and stucco terracotta shades. But, tradition blends harmoniously with the modern style as the owners – a rich, cultivated couple – wanted to have an airy, simplified space. Thus, the columns were reduced to a minimum base and a capital and the sloped ceilings were completed with imitation wood beams. As for the interiors, they were generally furnished with Italian brands, and some warm, stylish looks resulted.
The luxurious house is located on a promontory, and it has access to the water. It is not equipped with conditioning and ventilation systems. The owners already had the experience of living in a house with sophisticated equipment, and it was almost never used. It turned out that it is more lovely to open the windows and breathe fresh air. In addition to the main building there is an unit, allocated for storing, garage, boiler and professional kitchen. Outside, in the courtyard, a fireplace and a stove for cooking were installed.
