Utrecht-based studio Zecc Architects has converted a catholic church built in 1870 into a spacious house.
Located in Utrecht in The Netherlands, the 5,112 square foot church features an open contemporary interior design.

2.God’s Loftstory – A Historical Dutch Church Converted into a Unique Loft LIving Space
Dutch studio Leijh, Kappelhof, Seckel, van den Dobbelsteen Architecten completed the God’s Loftstory project. The architects converted a historical Dutch church into a unique loft living space in Haarlo, a village in the province of Gelderland, The Netherlands. The former Dutch Reformed Evangelism Building in Haarlo has been transformed into a unique loft.

Lexmond-based studio Ruud Visser Architects in South Holland has converted a wooden church built in 1930 into a spacious house for a family of four. Located along the river De Rotte in Rotterdam, the church became a storage facility and a garage before being converted into a beautiful house.
4. Church Conversion: Hudson St by Bagnato Architects
The home is the result of the conversion of an 1892 Anglican Church. Hudson St was completed by Bagnato Architects in 2012, and is located in Moonee Ponds, a suburb of Melbourne, Australia. Innovative, intelligent and inspired, this home marries an 1892 church to 2012 modernity throughout unique dimensions including vast Living, Dining and Entertaining areas arranged around a stunning Nero Tempesta marble fire-place.

Realized by DOS Architects, the project we want to present you today is one of the most amazing lofts we have ever written about. Top two floors of Westbourne Grove Church, a 1853 Baptist chapel located in London’s Notting Hill were renovated and transformed into a contemporary stylish apartment. As architects explained, the clients wanted to create a “space of openness and transparency, combining their desire for cutting-edge technology with a love of clean, luxurious designs.”
