Having a traditional Chinese background, Ge Yang is an emerging artist from Qingdao, China who creates some spectacular pieces of furniture.

‘In the aspect of the ideology, the Chinese historic theory – Anything has its own life- is obeyed.
The regular form and specific structure must be observed in the design and manufacture process in the Chinese traditional classic furniture. The classic is the particular life of the furniture in the designer’s though.
However, in my point of view, every furniture will has their own life if the designer puts the culture in them.
In the aspect of the expression, the emphasis of my design is put in the structure and the practicability, not the color or material. That is why the white is used in the effect diagram.’
