Hidden behind the trees, Stratford Residence is a masterpiece of contemporary architecture. In spite of its impressing volumes, the interiors look cozy and relaxing, creating the feeling of an eternal holiday through comfy pieces of furniture and artefacts that add personality to the space. After virtually visiting the house, I stopped in the living room for one moment. Painted in natural tones, the salon features white comfortable sofas, leather stools and lots of oriental decorative items, displayed on discreet niche shelves. All the areas share a smooth communication, and the atmosphere feels airy and relaxed. Willing to integrate the rustic charm into contemporary design, stone and wood were used as predominant materials. Thus, several beams were left exposed and some walls borrowed the exterior stone finishing of the house. Last, but not least, a modern fireplace facing the sofas makes the living room warm and inviting.
