Studio Turnbull Griffin Haesloop has designed this single story contemporary home in Sebastopol, California, USA. Completed in 2008, this house bridges between two stands of redwood trees, with the northern window wall facing out to the expansive view. An open floor plan gives the residence a spacious feel although it is a modest size at 1,700 square feet. Clerestory windows stretching the expanse of the house let in sunlight, allowing warmth to spread throughout the open organization of the home. The exterior is constructed from cedar siding with a metal roof and the interior features a Douglas fir ceiling and decking, sheetrock walls and Ipe flooring. The north-facing windows give way to a glorious view of the surrounding nature.
