Created by Durka Emilia-Zielinska and Valentine Durka, the building is not only a single-family house for a couple of architects, it is also the seat of their studio – the House of Architects. The priority was to ensure a healthy (safe) living environment and a favorable microclimate. According to the architects: “We designed an innovative wood construction of repetitive frame structure composed of 21 timber frames, giving inside unlimited space. Unique are also the outer walls. The outer wall is insulated by a layer of pressurized cellulose.This thermal insulation have values in excess of its requirements for passive buildings. These bulkhead are characterized by high heat capacity, and olso the opening of the water vapor diffusion and act as a modifier of the internal environment.
