“Matchheads” is a series of sculptures by British artist David Mach entirely made of over 50,000 matches. For the past 30 years, David has created sculptures from thousands of matchsticks including the faces of Marylin Monroe, Charlie Chaplin, and many others. The matches stay put by using a clay mold, and David will often ignite his creations as a new method of performance art.
